Just received the likely last musical brightness of Martin Walkyier by mail: the first (and last) demo CD "In the Big Ending..." of The Clan Destined. It's a pitty Martin has stopped completely with making music, because he proves on this demo that he still has the capability to create increadable music and lyrics. The new albums rocks! I had the luck to listen to the album already and I love it. It's most definately different. Of course I might say, a different lead-singer and thus a different lyrics writer... Skyclad is currently working on their new album with the working title "a semblance of normality". Tracks recorded so far include "The Parliament of Fools", "The song of no-involvement", "Campaign", "The genius of the shire" (parts 1 and 2), "Like... (A ballad for the disenchanted)", "Anotherdrinkingsong", "Lightning the load", "The roman wall blues", "A good day to bury bad news" and "Do they mean us?". Release is scheduled for late summer 2003, to be preceded with a single and a promo video.

The "No daylights..." has been released and available from the official homepage.
Two new tourdates, one in Holland and the first in the US.
The band is currently working on new tracks for a new album that will be released late fall this year. Recording will take place at the end of July or at the beginning of August.

The single "Swords of a thousand men" will be released on 26th of November only in the UK. It will be available on the official site as well.
Skyclad is currently working on a "new" album release of reworked Skyclad classics, called "No Daylights... Nor Heel Taps".

The first new release for the same but different Skyclad; a single called "Swords of a thousand men". It contains 2 new version of the song and a new recording of the Widdershins Jig.
There have been some other releases as well, a live album "Another fine mess", another compilation "History Lessons" and a compilation promo in Greece "Poetic Wisdom".

Indeed Martin has left, Kevin has replaced him on vocals. Martin has returned to Sabbat, his previous band. There are some tourdates scheduled with Kevin on vocals.

Skyclad is at the moment recording and writing songs for the new album "Rhymes Against Humanity". There are no tourdates scheduled for the near future. Although there are intentions to have a European tour after the release of the new album, around October this year.

Finally the good news is out! Nuclear Blast is the new record compagny. The deal includes 4 normal heavy albums and gives the oportunity to release 2 unplugged albums too. Also the new deal might finally give Skyclad a change to play in countries they haven't visited before. The band is now writing new songs for the new album, which has a working title of "Rhymes Against Humanity" and is scheduled for release later this year.

A UK tour in March 2000. (No dates yet, will follow as soon as possible). The recording of a new album is planned for April-May 2000 (although there is no record compagny yet). Thus it won't be released before September 2000. There might be Greek tour after the recording.

Currently Skyclad is writing new songs and trying to get a new contract. Skyclad themselves don't know anything about gigs in September or October. Rumours about the ended Massacre contract say that Massacre kicked Skyclad out and didn't want to renew the contract, because of disappointing sales.

Seems like Skyclad is really leaving Massacre. Although they still have to make one cd for them. (Where did I hear that before?) I still don't know anything about the split up, Martin is surely talking about it during concerts, but if it is true?
